A hair-raising and emotionally dazzling feature length spoken word documentary, directed by Rotimi Rainwater that explores the world of Slam Poetry, focusing on four performance artists from Los Angeles and New York as they battle their way to stardom at the National Poetry Slam Competition. Narrated by Rosario Dawson, Mums and Abiodun, we meet key figures from the aggressive Hollywood slam scene, including Def Poetry Jam producer Russell Simmons and the charismatic Shihan, style-setter and coach of Los Angeles' own Da Poetry Lounge. "SP!T" has screened at festivals across the country and will be distributed theatrically late 2006.
